| Travel Subsidy |
The organizers are happy to announce the availability of travel subsidy for up to 6 students who are in need of additional support. What does it include? The subsidy will include * free full conference registration, * shared accommodation at a nearby hotel (shared with another student) * Upto US$400 to cover transportation costs (need to make a case for this) How to apply? To apply please send a letter (no more than 1 side of an A4) requesting subsidy to the conference chairs. The letter should include why you want to attend the workshop (indicate if you have a paper or poster accepted), how will the subsidy help you and why you feel that you are the best candidate for the subsidy. Commitment to attend the event (proof of registration, flights etc.) would be an added plus. Can I request more for transportation? We don’t expect to be able to cover all your transportation costs. You can request a maximum of $400 to cover your transportation costs. However, if you feel your situation warrants a bigger transportation subsidy, you may request more than $400. (you need to make a case for it). Please note that the travel subsidy is not meant to fully cover your travel costs, but to provide an additional source to make it easier for you to attend. Deadline for application Please email your application (1 side of an A4) as a pdf to the conference chairs before August 29 2008. We will inform all applicants of our decision by September 9 2008. Note: If your application exceeds the page limit we may not consider it. What if I’ve already registered? You can still apply and if you are successful we will reimburse your registration costs.
